Alexander Boyd, Boydton’s namesake, originally donated the land on which the Meeting House is built in 1819 for the construction as a church that would serve all religious denominations in the area. In 1824, he decided to deeded the property to the Presbyterian trustees for one dollar, hence the name Presbyterian Meeting House. The historic building is now owned by the Town of Boydton. The grounds and cemetery are open to the public at all times. The Meeting House, open upon request, is on the Stop and See Pass program.
