Native American Heritage As the first documented inhabitants of Southern Virginia, Native American heritage is commemorated at Occoneechee State Park, as well as illustrated in three museums dedicated to displaying Native American artifacts. A location on the Civil Rights in Education Heritage Trail identifies the site of the first formal education for Native Americans in America. |
