Housed in the historic 1899 Southern Railway Passenger Station, at The Crossing of the Dan, the Danville Science Center has just opened a Butterfly Station and Garden, one of only a few butterfly greenhouses in Virginia. Other exhibits allow visitors of all ages to unlock the secrets of how things work. A traveling exhibit features the Enchanted Museum: Exploring the Science of Art, where you can enter a world where NASA technology brings rainbows to life and a magical place where your shadow becomes part of an ancient sculptural frieze.

Directions:
Take US-58 into Danville and follow brown Danville Science Center signs. Go south-west at SR-360 or North Main St and cross river. Turn left onto Craghead St. Arrive at 677 Craghead St. on left at the “Crossing at the Dan.”
