http://www.dgif.state.va.us/hunting/wma/dick_cross.html Named for the former Executive Director of the Virginia Game Department, the Dick Cross Wildlife Management Area is nationally known as a bird dog trial facility. Some 300 acres of bottom land timber along Allen Creek and the Roanoke River also shelter doves, deer and wild turkeys. Since it is a designated waterfowl refuge, no hunting of birds is allowed.
