Emporia
The historic City of Emporia is a combination of the Town of Hicksford settled in 1710 and the Town of Belfield established in 1798, chartered as a City in 1967. Today, Emporia is generally considered the commercial hub of far Southside Virginia since it is located at the crossroads of US Route 58, Interstate 95, the CSX Railroad and the Norfolk Southern Railroad. The historic district includes the recently renovated 1781 Greensville County Courthouse, Village View, a historic home dating from 1795 and other historic structures.

From I-95 take exit 11, go east on US-58 to Main St, turn right.
