James Underwood uses his art as an expression of his mountain heritage. “My favorite time to paint is early morning or dusk.” This is when the color, light and shadows convey the mood of the pristine environment in a moment of solitude.” Mr. Underwood, now completely retired after 30 years with a manufacturing company, is able to express the grandeur of the Virginia mountains full time through his painting.
