Majestic Lake Gaston offers fresh water recreation at its finest. Straddling the Virginia/North Carolina border, the lake is 34 miles long and 95 feet deep at its maximum depth. 350 miles of shoreline surround 20,000 acres of water. The lake, created as an impoundment by Virginia Power, is well stocked with game fish. Motor boating, tubing, water skiing and jet skiing are all popular water sports. Good restaurants, shopping, and cultural activities can be enjoyed year round in the surrounding towns.
