From menu select Attractions, Historic, Walking/Driving Tours, Victorian Walking Tour

The centerpiece of one of the preeminent collections of Victorian and Edwardian architecture in the South, Millionaires' Row is the group of homes along West Main Street that remain symbols of Danville's and the South's -- history. The homes, resplendent in gables, gingerbread scrollwork, columns, porticos, cupolas and minarets, the various structures played a prominent place in the Civil War, served as the residences of prosperous tobacco manufacturers and housed the entrepreneurs who formed Dan River, Inc. Five architecturally distinctive churches grace Millionaires' Row, serving to remind us why Danville is often referred to as the City of Churches. The okra colored brick and gray cobblestone streets that once graced the genteel district, some with trolley rail, remain intact underneath the asphalt covering.
